Artist Statement
Kurt Johnson is a fine art photographer exploring scale, stillness, and spatial perception through panoramic black-and-white photography.
Using a 65:24 aspect ratio, his photographs emphasize proportion, negative space, and the quiet relationships between land, light, and structure. Architectural principles inform a slow, deliberate approach to image-making.
More than three decades of professional practice have shaped a disciplined sensitivity to atmosphere and observation that underpins this series.
